CoE English for Young Learners (EYL) English Education Study Program aims to
equipping students as prospective educators who need academic education and
flexible skills in improving their quality of life in management and
Teaching English to Young Learners and providing provisions to
students to have a career and become entrepreneurs in the field of education, especially those who
related to Teaching English to Young Learners. The main competencies in the class
The CoE EYL includes two aspects, namely theory (Overview on Teaching EYL, Characteristics of
Young Learners, Opportunities and Challenges of Teaching EYL, Approaches, Methods,
Techniques, and Media of Teaching EYL, Lesson Planning on Teaching EYL, introduction
Business Planning,) and practice (Teaching Practice on EYL, Internship 1 and Internship
2). The implementation itself is carried out in two semesters, Semesters 6 and 7 (Even and Odd).
Consists of theoretical and practical classes as well as internships at DUDI partners. The main DUDI partners
which includes English First Malang, Sekolah Play Harmoni, My Little Island, Sapal
Education Center (Myanmar), and Abeka Homeschool (Vietnam). As for the Output and
The outcome of this CoE EYL class is that students who have graduated from this class can work
as professionals in the field of English for Young Learners, both as educators,
professional educators and entrepreneurs. For sustainability plans, EYL's CoE team
will develop additional certification programs such as the "Advanced EYL Methodology"
or "Digital EYL Teaching Strategies" for alumni, as well as opening up training opportunities
intensive for participants who want to improve their competencies in specific areas, such as
storytelling, drama, or STEAM-based teaching.
