The Bachelor of English Language Education (BELE) Program was first established on December 24, 1988, based on the Decree of the Minister of Education and Culture Number: 0648/0/1988.  Then, acquire an operating permit through the Decree of the Ministry of National Education Coordination of Private Universities Region VII Number: 20600/D/T/K-VII/2009 on June 26, 2009.

Since the issuance of legislation, such as Government Regulation Number. 19 of 2005 concerning National Education Standards and Law No. 14 of 2005 concerning Teachers and Lecturers which demands the qualifications of teachers who have quality standards and competency standards in accordance with their fields, the Bachelor of English Language Education program is determined to produce teachers who are professional, creative and future-looking and able to utilize their knowledge for the development of science and technology and improve the quality of human resources. Such teacher professionalism can only be realized through Educational Personnel Education Institutions (LPTK) that have image and excellence.

The Bachelor of English Language Education Program succeeded in obtaining its first accreditation on August 11, 1998, with a B rank based on the Decree of the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education Number: 01161/Ak-I.1/UMMPGI/VIII/1998. Then, 10 years after that, this study program succeeded in obtaining an A (Very Good) rank accreditation under the Decree of the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education Number: 018/BAN-PT/Ak-XI/S1/VIII/2008. Then, the English Language Education study program was successfully accredited as Superior on December 21, 2023, based on the Decree of the Educational Independent Accreditation Institute Number: 969/SK/LAMDIK/Ak/S/IX/2023.
